Sorry Vin Diesel’s Not Sorry

Here’s a scenario: it’s Friday night and you’re sitting around with your girlfriends nursing a glass (or two) of red wine (in ratty old sweatpants mind you, not Olivia Pope style: in a full white ensemble on a white couch). You’re detoxing from the week when the inevitable question comes out: “where are we going tonight?” In my friend group, the immediate response to this is: “Somewhere we can dance!” Because sometimes, you’ve just got to dance it out.

Apparently this is a feeling Vin Diesel knows oh so well. When he gets hit with the uncontrollable urge to dance, he doesn’t fight it. The only difference is he does it alone. While jamming to Katy Perry and Beyoncé. In front of a webcam. And uploads it to Facebook. For millions to watch.

While I’ll be the first to admit that, at times, this can be kind of sketchy (he has obviously not become famous for his dance moves),

There is also a whole lot of awesomeness wrapped up in this 7.5 minute package. For example: his botched attempts at lip syncing, his hunched-over dance style in an effort to stay inside of the small webcam frame:

*There’s a definite learning curve to this.

The way he spends half of the video sideways: (I’d say the previous point probably plays into this…)

And is so incredibly jazzed to be rocking out to Katy and Beyoncé songs:

But, my most favorite thing about this entire thing is the sheer fact that Vin Diesel is so freaking persistent. This video is over 7 minutes long but he just keeps on trying to make it work. And he seems to be loving every minute of it. Carpe Diem Vin. Carpe Diem.

If you’ve got the time, patience and a strong tolerance for the painfully awkward, then watch all of the gloriousness unfold here. Or, you can just read the great things people are saying about it instead:

Ain’t it the truth.
