The Ever-Philosophical Lisa Frank

Oh, Lisa Frank. How I miss you so. You were the only fun part of every 1990-something back-to-school shopping trip and upped my level of grade school coolness with your trippy neon color combos and doe-eyed animal art.

Sadly, since it’s not fully appropriate or professional to rock your gear in client meetings, I’ve had to downgrade my LF intake since elementary school.

Until now.

Enter The Lisa Frankfurt School. A tumblr account perfect for mature adults with Lisa Frank withdrawals (this gal), The Lisa Frankfurt School combines swoopy neon figures we know and love with excerpts from texts we should have read in college.

At the Frankfurt School, Eclipse of Reason (ZzzzZzz) becomes big, shiny ‘Lipse of Reason, Theodor Adorno’s illustrious “Wrong life cannot be rightly lived” (huh?) is now “Wrong life cannot be lived brightly,” and The Prison Notebooks get a cheerful makeover.

Now this is the kind of schooling I could get used to. Long live Lisa Frank!
