m.onday deal — Dermelect Cosmeceuticals

Did you know that May = Skin Cancer Awareness Month? Hopefully not, because hopefully you’re concerned about the sun year-round. But even those of us who make sure we don’t leave the house without SPF may not realize that protecting the delicate area around your eyes is just as important as your face, shoulders and legs. The result, over time, is unwanted wrinkles (yuck!) and crow’s feet (ahh!)!

Luckily, Dermelect Cosmeceuticals has come to the rescue with their Age Def Eye Cream with SPF 15. Protecting the skin around your pretty eyes from premature aging and the formation of lines, this cream reflects UV rays and acts as a barrier against destructive free radicals. Normally sold at $36, for orders placed during the month of May you’ll get this remarkable product for $18. That’s 50% off!

So now you have no excuse not to protect, moisturize and say bye, bye to unwanted wrinkles! What more could you ask for? Oh yeah, maybe a killer tan sans tan lines!

Fine Print:

  • Offer available from May 24 – May 31.
  • Only one Age Def Eye Cream per customer at discounted rate.

m.onday deal — Nantucket Wine Festival

While Daffodil and Figawi may represent the start of season to some (weird yellow-loving folks and drunkity-drunks, mainly), for the foodie set, the start of Nantucket’s season begins each year with the Nantucket Wine Festival. The 14th annual Festival begins this Wednesday and, in true fashion, most events have already sold out. One offering series that still has availability includes the four Luncheon Symposium, pairing winemakers with some of the island’s finest chefs such as those from Straight Wharf & American Seasons. Today’s m.onday deal will get you into one of the best; honestly, for a food and wine lover, it’s worth a day trip for the experience.

West Coast Pinot Meets East Coast Cochon features the cuisine of Chef Michael LaScola and winemakers Robert Sinskey, Proprietor, Robert Sinskey Vineyards, Maria Ponzi, Proprietor, Ponzi Vineyards (symposium wine: Ponzi Vineyards Pinot Noir Reserve 2005), David Hirsch, Proprietor, Hirsch Vineyard and Alex Sokol-Blosser, Proprietor, Sokol-Blosser.

Tickets for the 3.5 hour lunch (11 AM – 2:30 PM) on Thursday, May 20, 2010 are selling for $150. For m.onday deal readers, you can buy a ticket for $125.00. That’s 17% off of the regular ticket price. If this isn’t enough to convince you to call in sick on Thursday and make a day around it, perhaps the menu will be the final nail in the coffin…

m.onday deal — SalonCapri Manicure

Some say there’s nothing better than a free lunch. We’d have to disagree. In our humble opinion, a free high-quality manicure beats out a silly ‘ol sandwich any day! Lucky for you, SalonCapri thinks so, too. To celebrate the opening of their brand new location at Legacy Place on May 15, they’re throwing in a free mani with any cut & color appointment scheduled between May 15 – May 30. If that’s not incentive enough to get those roots done, maybe no longer being called “skunk head” by your 10 year old will seal the deal.

Fine Print:

  • Appointments for a cut & color must be booked and performed between May 15 – May 30, 2010.
  • You must mention m.onday deal at the time of booking to add on an appointment for a complimentary manicure.

To Redeem:

  • Appointments may be booked starting May 10. Call 781-320-0900 and mention m.onday deal while booking your appointment.

m.onday deal — Basho

If you’re a frequent flier in the Kenmore/Fenway neighborhood, you know how annoying home game days can be. Traffic’s a bitch, you can’t get into your favorite eatery (not until after the 7:05 opening pitch, that is) and talk about light pollution! But sometimes good does come with home games, like the free California roll at Basho Japanese Brasserie.

That’s right. Any day the Sox play at home, you get a free California roll at Basho. And it’s not just any Cali roll — nope, it’s marked by a big ‘ol red B made of tobiko. So stop in and try it already…it’s a $6.95 value — FREE!

Fine Print:

  • One roll per person per day, with food purchase.
  • Dine-in only; offer not available for take out.
  • May be redeemed at either lunch or dinner service (you don’t have to wait ’til the game!).

To Redeem:
Visit Basho on game day and ask for the Sox California roll when you place your order with your server.

m.onday deal — Russell House Tavern

Pretty much everyone has been raving about Harvard Square newbie Russell House Tavern. From the food (“tempura poached egg, it’s like they’re in my head and know my dreams”) to the drinks (“”Oh Drink, if you were in any more of a convenient location, I would probably develop a severe drinking problem.” A quote taken directly from my review of Drink a few months ago. Let the substance abuse begin…”) to the service (“The service was great, when greeted at the door I instantly felt welcome”), we think it’s fair to say that the HS dining scene has been forever changed. While we agree with all of the fanfare, the thing we’re raving most about is their unique wine on tap program.

Wine? On Tap? Yea. That’s what we said. Before you start reverting back to memories of college keggers, use the logical part of your brain to realize how cool of a concept this is! Not only does storing wine in a keg ensure freshness in every glass, but because it’s bought in bulk, you (imbiber) get a superior local product at a super low price (5 bucks a glass, every day)! Hey, when you think about it that way…kudos to Russell House for bringing the idea to Boston!

To introduce you to the beauty of wine on tap, we bring you a very special m.onday deal. Today only, you’ll enjoy two glasses of wine on tap, accompanied by a dozen oysters, for only $22.00! This deal would normally cost $34.00 (the deal here is in the oysters — we’re bringing them to you half off — because the wine is already so cheap there’s no where to discount it!), representing a 35% discount.

So get on over to Harvard Square and see what all of the fuss is about.  And then write and let us know what’s your rave!

Fine Print:

  • One order of 12 oysters and 2 glasses of wine on tap per person.
  • No substitutions.
  • Offer available only today — Monday April 26, 2010 — until close.

How to Redeem:

  • All you’ve got to do is mention m.onday deal to the bartender or your server.
